Our Story
Established in 2012, PLeDGE Health leads the way in advancing sustainable approaches to global healthcare inequities.
Our Mission
PLeDGE Health is a startup nonprofit dedicated to advancing educational leadership in global health. By fostering collaboration, sharing resources, and encouraging open-source knowledge, we aim to create sustainable solutions that reduce critical healthcare inequities worldwide.
What We Do
Program Development & Medicine Training
We collaborate with local healthcare providers to design emergency medicine programs tailored to their country’s specific needs. This includes developing training curricula, creating open-source educational resources, and ensuring that local leaders play a central role in building and guiding these initiatives. By focusing on capacity building rather than short-term aid, we empower communities to continue advancing emergency care long after our involvement.
What We Do
Global Partnerships & Knowledge Exchange
Through international partnerships, we facilitate knowledge exchange between U.S.-based experts and healthcare providers abroad. Our volunteers work side by side with local professionals in places such as Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Vietnam, and Nepal, creating opportunities for mutual learning and skill development. These exchanges foster durable relationships that not only improve patient care immediately but also strengthen health systems for the future.
What We Do
Knowledge Exchange & Sustainable Growth
We believe that lessons learned should benefit both global and local communities. That’s why we prioritize dissemination of best practices, research findings, and program outcomes across borders. By sharing insights with partners overseas and academic institutions in the U.S., we ensure that our work contributes to a cycle of innovation and sustainability, encouraging broader adoption of effective approaches to emergency medicine development.
PLeDGE Health encourages activities in which our volunteers work overseas with health care providers to develop durable relationships for the future.
All activities have three components to them:
